	24.07.2007 Since buying a sx-70 polaroid land camera last year I have been taking occational snapshots of this and that. I'm truly fascinated by this instant photo fun thing that polaroid is. 	20.07.2007 This year see's quite a few Albums featuring Helgi as a sideman. Recent releases like Amiina's Debut LP Kurr and Michael Fakesch's (Funkstörung) Dos where Helgi playes trombone. His playing will also be heard on the upcoming Bedroom Community Albums incl. Valgeirs Sigurdsson's Ekvílibríum and Sam Amidon's upcoming LP. Helgi's own World Music & Fusion drama-band Beefólk will release their first Live Album this October. Furthermore Helgi will be heard singing a duet with the Danish singer/songwriter Sara Grabow on her 2nd album, to be released later this year.
	06.06.07 Helgi Jonsson's performance at the SPOT Festival in Århus, Denmark was a great success. Gaffa, Denmarks' biggest music magazine gave the concert 5 out of six stars. You can read the review here

	06.11.06 Helgi Recently worked with the Vienna based, German photoghrapher /artist Lia Saile. You should check out her fantastic work at Polanoid.net Some of the photos Lia shot of Helgi, will be available here shortly.
	28.10.06 For the last few days, Helgi has been with his band in the studio working on new material.
	20.09.06 During his stay in Iceland this August Helgi recorded a new song, September. It was rehearsed and recorded at the Sigur Rós studio - sundlaugin, in Mosfellsbaer. Helgi had some of Icelands finest musicians to come along and play: Sigtryggur Baldursson, the former drummer of the Sugarcubes, Pétur Ben, reykjavik's next star/singer/songwriter playing guitar and Kjartan Sveinsson from sigur rós, playing bass. The song is, in a subtle way, a protest to the ongoing destruction of Icelandic nature through huge dam projects. One of these projects, Karahnjukavirkjun, will start overfloating land this September. 57 squarekilometers (That's 57 million squaremeters) of unspoiled nature will disappear, and over one hundred waterfalls will be destroyed. 	16.09.06 Pétur Ben a long time friend and collaborator of Helgi has released his first solo album, Wine for my Weakness. This talented musician has been making people wait quite a while for his own work, allthough he's been known as Mugisons right hand, but this year things seems to be changing. Shortly after the release of the solo album, a new icelandic film Children was released. Pétur wrote the score for the film, and you can hear Helgi Jonsson playing his trombone all over the place. check out pétur's profile on myspace
	05.06.06 Georg Hartwig, the producer and mixer of Glóandi has a project of his own, a band called Monk. Working on their second album which, among many fine artists, features Helgi on trombone. You can listen to some of the latest tracks on their Myspace profile.
	04.06.06 The Austrian film maker Mohn Manola is producing a Helgi Jonsson Live Concert DVD. It was recorded and filmed in November, in a concert held in Villach, Austria. The planned released is for September.
	19.05.06 Helgi will be touring Europe with Sigur Rós this summer. He will be one of five icelandic brass players to join the group on their festival-tour in June and July.

	16.05.06 Helgi just came back from a 3 week tour with the European Jazz Orchestra. They played 18 Concerts in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Holland, Wales, England and Scotland. New music from conductor Barry Forgie and the British pianist, Julian Joseph.
	30.03.06 Beefólk is working on a new live-album planned for release in November, 2006. The music is already recorded; the album will contain recordings from their march-tour.

	25.03.06 Helgi will be performing with Sigur Rós next week at their UK Concerts in London Hammersmith Apollo and in Manchster. The band will also be playing a BBC session for Channel 1.
	24.03.06 Currently working with the German Electronica-Duo Funkstörung, Helgi is doing both trombone and vocal tracks for their upcoming album.
	21.01.06 beefólk played at Vienna's renomated Konzerthaus last night for a full house. The concert, being organized by Jeunesse Musicales, was thought for young people at all ages and lots of children showed up and saw & heard something really different, for once. :)
	10.01.06 Helgi performed with Sigur Rós and Múm in a concert for icelandic nature on January 7th. The concert was held in Reykjavik's Laugardashöll and was sold out (5500 tickets) in a record 7 minutes. Among other artists performing that night were Björk & Zeena Parkins, Damien Rice with band & Lisa Hannigan, Damon Albarn, Mugison and many others.

	17.12.05 The second single from Glóandi, Lighting up for Good is now 5th, on the Austrian Soundportal Charts, after 5 weeks on the charts. You can check it out and vote for Helgi at www.soundportal.at
	13.12.05 The Helgi Jonsson band played some three gigs in "the sulfer-city" Reykjavik and had a great time. They're live performance on Channel 2 will soon be available in the download section. Helgi also performed with Sigur Rós in Laugardalshöllin, Reykjavik on their last concert (this year) of the "Takk tour". 	02.12.05 Helgi Jonsson has been nominated for the Independent Austrian Music Awards, Mamadeus.
	16.11.05 After two shows in Vienna, the band is playing two more concerts in Austria before heading for Iceland. Helgi Jonsson will be playing concerts at his hometown Seltjarnarnes, as well as in Reykjavík. Also, the band will be featured on Channel 2 (Rás 2), for a live Radio Concert on Friday, November 25th at 15:10 (GMT). You can listen to the performance (live streaming) here
	02.11.05 Helgi will be playing trombone as a sideman with sigur rós at Brixton Academy in London on Nov. 9th. Also at the BBC show Later with Jools Holland on Nov. 11th.
	31.10.05 back home from the beefólk tour. we played 16 concerts in germany, austria, switzerland and slovakia. had some great time together. during the tour the band recorded some five concerts for a new "live" CD sceduled for march 5th, 2006.

	01.05.05 Helgi Jonsson, with band, played at the Jazz No Jazz festival in Zürich (CH) last night. It was a full house of enthusiastic music-lovers and a very nice athmosphere. And what a nice city indeed.
	29.04.05 So here we are!! Helgi Jonsson's first release is no more just a dream. "Make Me Fall" is the name of a 3-song EP out now, on Material Records. You can listen to samples HERE and order the EP HERE.
	28.04.05 Helgi Jonsson played the first concert with his newly formed band, yesterday evening, at the M59 in Graz. It was an unofficial concert for friends, a dress rehearsal for the future music. The band had a great time on stage and is looking forward to upcoming gigs.
	20.03.05 Material Records in March released a Label Presentation CD, a wonderful collection of all the artists on the label; with one sample of each production up to date. Check it out!
